The following bulbs are excellent choices for vibrant blooms:

Allium – Provides color in spring and early summer. Plant bulbs between September and October. They can remain in the ground year-round and will bloom annually.

Dahlias – Opt for single-flower varieties, as they are best for bees. Plant in spring after the last frost (mid-April to June). Dahlias are not frost-tolerant, so if your area experiences frost, you’ll need to lift and store them over winter.

Begonias – Plant in spring after the last frost (March to May). In frost-prone areas, lift and store them for winter.

Crocosmia – Plant in spring (March to April). These bulbs can remain in the ground over winter, covered with mulch for protection. However, in extreme cold, it’s best to lift and store the corms.

The ideal planting time for summer bulbs depends on the type of bulb and its specific needs. Climate conditions will also determine whether they can remain in the ground year-round.
