Wyboston Lakes Resort wins prestigious industry award for sustainability efforts

Wyboston Lakes Resort has won an important category in the highly prestigious C&IT Impact Awards.

This award, Best Venue - Other, is for venues that lead the conference and meetings industry in responsible operations. It recognises Wyboston Lakes Resort’s long-term commitment, investment, and policies required to embed ESG principles into the very fabric of a building and its management.

The judges said “At Wyboston Lakes Resort, sustainability is not confined to policy language or guest messaging; it is engineered into the estate itself.”

They ‘admired the scale of the renewable investment in installing 3,200 solar panels’, with one calling the volume of solar panels "exceptional".

“The venue has strong operational practices, but in addition to that, the site’s Woodlands Event Centre invites clients and guests to join that impact story. Room2Give, launched in 2025, enables overnight guests to forego room servicing in favour of a charitable donation. In its first year, the initiative cut 73 tonnes of CO2 emissions and raised £35,000 for local causes.

“The resort has a strong and very structured approach to ESG backed by measurable impact across carbon, waste and energy.”
