Wyboston Lakes is delighted to announce that they have joined The Wildlife Trust BCN as a corporate member.
The resort located in 380 acres of countryside is home to a 4 star hotel and restaurant, an award winning spa, two residential conference centres and also a 1.9 acre nature reserve known as Begwary Brook.
The reserve is a rare riverside marsh with a series of small open pools creating a tranquil area for wildlife such as Foxes, Kingfishers and various species of Dragonfly to thrive.
“As a company we are keen to produce positive outcomes for our customers, colleagues, suppliers and the wider community.” said Mark Haynes, Director of Property “We are lucky to have a beautiful nature reserve with lots of wildlife on site. With over 60% of British wildlife species in decline we wanted to work more closely with the Trust to help achieve its vision for a living landscape.”
Success for Wyboston Lakes is not only based on financial performance but also on the impact the company has on their customers, employees, local area and environment. In addition to joining forces with The Wildlife Trust, Wyboston lakes has also achieved a their goal of zero to landfill and have diverted over 250 tonnes of waste a year from landfill to recycling and waste to energy.
The partnership with The Wildlife Trust is another key part of the Corporate Social Responsibility plan that the resort is working towards.
Future CSR goals for the site include planting a wildlife garden to encourage and support honeybee populations; and reducing the energy usage across site as part of a wider Energy Management Plan.
Talks and guided walks for guests will also be implemented in partnership with The Wildlife Trust in 2018 to further support the reserve.
