Wyboston Lakes Resort has gained official recognition for its extensive efforts to operate sustainably by achieving the Green Tourism Silver Award.

The award has been granted by the Green Tourism Business Scheme, the national sustainable tourism certification scheme for the UK & Ireland with over 2400 members. It is the only national certification programme endorsed by the national tourism agencies.

Wyboston Lakes Resort was assessed by a qualified grading advisor against a rigorous set of 145 criteria, covering a range of areas including energy and water efficiency, waste management, purchasing, travel, biodiversity and more.

Businesses receive a Bronze, Silver, or Gold award based on their level of achievement. They are regraded once every two years. This is the first time that Wyboston Lakes Resort has been assessed despite working on “green issues” for many years.

Managing Director Steve Jones says; “We opted to be evaluated as we’re increasingly being asked about all of our CSR efforts by prospective clients.

“We’re thrilled to receive the Green Tourism Silver Award. This has been a key focus for many years and to have our efforts validated is a great to hear, especially for our team that have worked tirelessly to make this cultural.  We will be continuing to look at how we can keep improving in all that we do.”
