Overcoming the challenges we face is a great feeling. At Wyboston Lakes we’re here to listen and help in any way we can to bring our events to life. Our team are continuously working towards ensuring that events held with us are safe, memorable, and successful.
The event sector can be stressful due to the high-pressure nature of organising and executing events, which often involve tight deadlines, demanding clients, and unexpected challenges. Additionally, events typically require coordination among multiple vendors and stakeholders, which can add complexity to the planning process. The need for constant adaptability and flexibility, coupled with the responsibility of ensuring a successful outcome, can contribute to the high levels of stress in the event sector.
51% of workers in the hospitality and events sector reported experiencing stress, compared to the national average of 37% for all industries so finding ways to reduce stress when delivering events is a must, here are our top tips:
Plan and prepare early:
Start planning and preparing for the event as early as possible and create a detailed timeline and checklist to ensure that all tasks are completed on time.
Delegate tasks:
Where possible delegate tasks to team members and trust them to handle their responsibilities. This will free up some of your time and allow you to focus on the bigger picture.
Practice self-care:
Make time for self-care, including exercise, healthy eating, and getting enough rest. Take breaks throughout the day to recharge and refocus.
Communicate effectively:
Ensure that you communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including clients, vendors, team members, and attendees. Clear communication can help prevent misunderstandings and reduce stress.
Have a contingency plan:
Have a contingency plan in place in case of any unforeseen issues or emergencies. This can help you feel more in control and prepared for any situation.
Celebrate successes:
Take time to celebrate successes, both big and small, during the event planning and delivery process. This can help boost morale and reduce stress for you and your team.
Delivering and hosting events successfully is critical. Rest assured, our hearts are in this, and we’re with our clients every step of the way.
Let’s do this!
