So putting together any event can be challenging, but large corporate events can be super stressful. However, as with anything the more you do it, the better and better you become, until, in the words of Steven Covey, “you become what you repeatedly do”.

At Wyboston Lakes Resort, we have expert event planners, that are not only good at what they do but the love the challenge too.

There are many challenges that an event planner may face when putting together a large event and to help those starting out we have put together some top tips on how to deal with any issues:

Budget constraints:

Ensuring that the event stays within budget can be a major challenge, as there are often many expenses to consider, such as venue costs, catering, entertainment, and transportation. Having control of the dosh is going to take away some of the worry.

Coordinating logistics:

Managing the logistics of a large event, including coordinating the schedules and arrangements of multiple suppliers, can be complex and time-consuming. Putting together a detailed plan and ensuring boundaries are set is important, for peace of mind.

Handling the unexpected:

Events can be unpredictable, and even the most experienced event planners need to be prepared should the proverbial hit the fan and unexpected issues that arise, such as inclement weather, equipment failures, or last-minute changes. Look at the eventualities and draft out a Plan B.

Managing delegates:

Ensuring that delegates have a positive experience at the event and handling any issues or concerns that may arise can be a challenge for event planners. Communication here is key, give them the correct amounts of information, especially pre-arrival stuff.

Time management:

Event planners may have tight deadlines to work with and may need to be able to juggle multiple tasks and priorities in order to ensure that the event runs smoothly.  Plan as much as you can, carefully with clear timescales and deadlines.

Events are never plain sailing, but they are lots of fun to create and satisfying when they go well.  Putting together a large event requires planning, attention to detail, and the ability to handle unexpected challenges.

We hope this helps you weave some magic into your next event, but if you would rather hand it over, you know where we are….
