Wyboston Lakes has announced its Christmas party schedule for December 2011. The venue has also launched a new version of its successful Christmas 'Meet and Treat' package, which enables companies to hold a staff meeting - for example, to brief employees on business performance during the year - and follow it with a festive celebration. 

The Bedfordshire venue is extremely popular for festive corporate events: it attracted more than 5000 partygoers during the 2010 Christmas period. This year's party programme includes a variety of different opportunities for distinctive and memorable occasions.  There are special themed nights, including an Abba and a Soul tribute night and 70s/80s and Motown themed disco nights.  There is also a James Bond night, with a black and white theme, a casino and a Tom Jones tribute act and an Elvis at Las Vegas tribute night.   Other options include 'party to a party' disco nights available for groups looking to share the spirit of Christmas with other groups.   All these events are for over 18s only.

Prices are £35.95 per person for the Abba, themed 70s/80s and Motown disco nights and the 'party to a party' nights; £36.95 per person for the Soul tribute night and Elvis at Las Vegas; and £38.95 per person for the James Bond night.  All prices include a delicious four course Christmas meal and entertainment.   Most of these prices have been held at 2010 rates.

A number of specific dates are also available on which companies can book one of Wyboston Lakes' three venues on an exclusive use basis to organise events to their own specification in terms of food and entertainment.

With more than 400 bedrooms on its 350 acre rural estate between Cambridge and Bedford, Wyboston Lakes is ideal for party guests who want to stay overnight. Double and twin ensuite rooms are available - with full English or continental breakfast - at a price of £60.00 per night (two people sharing).   

The 'Meet and Treat' package enables companies to choose one of the party options, or create their own event, and precede it with a meeting in a private room in one of Wyboston Lakes' three dedicated conference centres.

It's a high value offering - including an overnight stay - at £105.00 + VAT per person. This incorporates a full 'day delegate' meeting rate (which includes the cost of the main meeting room hire, two course hot or cold lunch, unlimited coffee, tea and biscuits, audio-visual equipment and IT support, flipchart and stationery); the four course dinner and Christmas Party entertainment; and overnight accommodation in a double/twin ensuite bedroom (price based on two people sharing a room) with a full English or continental breakfast the next morning. There is a single person bedroom supplement of £20 (including VAT).

Wyboston Lakes is finding that many organisations do not fully understand about the costs of a Christmas event is that the taxman will help foot the bill. "We are still pointing out to potential customers that the government allows most companies to claim the cost of the staff party against tax," explains Wyboston Lakes sales and marketing director Clive Bache: "In fact there's a maximum annual tax allowance for staff entertainment of £150.00 inc VAT per person… and if the company doesn't take advantage, it's gone to the tax man, not towards a happy employee."

The majority of Wyboston Lakes' Christmas events take place in its Robinson Executive Centre, which has the largest capacity of the three venues on its site.  The other venues, Wyboston Lakes Hotel and the Willows Centre, provide additional scope for Christmas events.
