Integrated systems made simple
Wyboston Lakes Resort is probably better placed than any other specialist venue to help organisers to understand, with complete confidence, how best to harness the possibilities opened up by technology. A massive ongoing investment has created an IT infrastructure that sets new standards for versatility and, most importantly, for reliability. It’s a combination that opens up new horizons for organisers in their quest to achieve new levels of effectiveness, impact and involvement.
Voted Best Venue for use of Technology 2012 by the HBAA, Wyboston Lakes Resort is at the forefront of delivering both simple and complex events through technology.
Leading edge technology ensures that trainers and conference presenters can easily communicate their messages. Delegates or attendees can benefit from crisp imagery, clear sound and stunning colour. Delivering powerful, memorable and stimulating events.
We have recently installed a Epson EB-1430Wi Projector at the Training Centre. This new projector will enable teams to collaborate more effectively during training sessions, key features include:
- Use of two smart pens for digital annotation on the screen.
- Use of two smart pens to interact with a laptop from the screen.
- A printer can be connected to print whatever is projected including any annotations.
- Split screen mode, showing connected device and blackboard screen side-by-side.
- Blackboard mode, using the screen as a simple blackboard without a laptop.
Freedom to roam...
Users of both venues benefit from FREE sector leading 1.3 GB broadband network, believed to be by some way the most powerful available in any specialist conference venue in the UK.
Wyboston Lakes Resort has increased their connection capabilities which includes two leased lines. This gives added flexibility to load balance the connections between the two lines giving a maximum of 1.3GB up and download speeds. If one link were to fail the team can then pass over to the other giving 100% guaranteed uptime.
At The Executive Centre additional Wi-Fi points have been added to give full coverage even in the restaurant & courtyard areas.
Great technology creating new possibilities...
Wyboston Lakes Resort advanced technology means that events of major dimensions need no longer be held with fingers crossed. With the right facilities, carefully managed and monitored, they can be achieved with total consistency. Since 2012, the venue doubled the strength of its site-wide broadband service to 200 Mbps – which is at least double the strength offered by most other venues. At the same time it implemented a major programme to enhance its audio-visual systems and set them at the forefront of HDMI presentation technology. Other aspects of have included advanced techniques for troubleshooting connectivity problems remotely and achieving effective multi-broadcasting.
The AV equipment used is the latest in modern technology allowing more flexibility and quality. Including ceiling mounted HD projectors, blu ray players and a control system. This includes easy access connection points allowing connections of virtually any laptop, tablet, phone or other audio visual device.
The framework has already produced some spectacular results for clients using the Wyboston Lakes Resort. In recent months, a top technology company was able to have more than 800 concurrent devices connected to the internet. An event for a leading image equipment manufacturer saw 230 connections from between the venue’s lounge and its training rooms, and a major banking organisation required more than 160 Wi-Fi connections from 120 bedrooms. In any one day we can have up to 1500 concurrent internet connections site wide.

What the clients say...
“The venue’s IT infrastructure, which has recently been significantly enhanced, is well ahead of what can be found at equivalent standard venues, even in London. But the biggest difference is that it is supported by a specialist in-house team, which is available immediately and at all times. Hotels normally have to call in support.”
